What is Website hosting?

Simply, hosting is about space you lease on a special computer, that is connected to the Internet, so other people can look at your Webpages.

You receive an assigned amount of disk space and bandwidth with your account. Disk space refers to the number or size of the files you can save to your server. Bandwidth refers to the volume of files, in megabytes, that you transfer to and from the server.

A hosting account allows you to have a "dot com" address for your Webpages. It also means your email address will never change even if you switch Internet access providers. This is very important if you are in business.

Account agreement

This is the Host and Subscriber Agreement that all new account holders must agree to. The host is Evergreen Internet Computer Science, and the subscriber is the person or company responsible for the account.

• The subscriber agrees to pay the monthly hosting fee, in advance, by preauthorized transaction or invoice in the specified time period. Accounts 60 days past due will be suspended. Suspended accounts are not exempt from payment.
• The subscriber agrees to be the sole monitor and manager of the account.
• The subscriber agrees to be responsible for data backup. The Host will create whole-server back-ups on a weekly basis. Restoration of lost files on individual accounts are not available.
• The subscriber will not use the account in a way that will create legal issues for the host.
• Accounts can be suspended or closed at the discretion of the host.
• The subscriber is welcome to use the account for "pay-per-listing directories" or other resold services.
• The host agrees to provide 100% guaranteed up-time. Subscribers who experience less than 100% up-time will be credited for one month of hosting. Server downtime will be determined by the technical logs for each domain and by the host, and all decisions are final.
• The subscriber agrees that the host will not be held liable for lost business or any damages whatsoever.
• A $20 handling fee will be charged for returned cheques.
• All sales are final.
